| The ash tree pictured below (right) was donated by the Chaisson family and planted at the Newark Town Square Park in memory of Cylinda Chaisson's grandfather Everett E. Johnston. Everett E. Johnston was a lifelong citizen of Newark and member of the Church of Christ. He donated time to Newark Volunteer Fire Department and was an author of several books on the history of Newark. Below (left) Newark youth enjoy the playset at Newark Town Square. |

| Delora Doughty Royal City Park located at the corners of McCanne & Central Ave was graciously donated by Mrs.. Royal's family for the use as a city park. It offers a covered gazebo, open green space and free standing Bar-B-Q grill. Bring the kids and enjoy a sunny Texas afternoon. |

For those who enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing and picnicking South Wise County Park is located just West of the City on Country Road 4873. The park has a public boat ramp, picnic tables, and lots of shore for bank fishing. |
